KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The fourth annual Kzoo Latinx Festival kicked off in Kalamazoo on Saturday.
Hosted by El Concilio, a nonprofit focused on helping Latinx residents in our area, the Latinx Festival celebrated the Latinx community and culture.
“As the only Latino led organization, we’re very focused on continuing to share our culture and sharing not just the food, but everything that we do for our hard working, for our language, our culture,” said Adrian Vazquez, CEO of El Concilio.
“So this is important, as every other festival that is focused on things, ours is focused on our community,” he added.
Held at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place, the festival featured food vendors, local artists showcasing jewelry, art, clothing, and more.
Live music performed by bands and DJs from Chicago, Detroit, and Houston entertained visitors, along with dancers from Detroit.
15 nonprofits from our area and afar were also present to connect visitors to resources.
