EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Forbes has recognized The University of Texas at El Paso as one of the top 15 colleges in the nation for launching successful careers.

The university also ranks eighth nationally for the lowest average student debt, according to the 2025 Forbes List of America’s Top Colleges.
The rankings evaluated 500 colleges across the country based on their effectiveness in helping graduates enter the workforce.
UTEP stands alongside prestigious institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, Drexel University, and Arizona State University, according to Forbes.

Forbes selected the top 15 schools based on factors such as work experience opportunities, including co-ops and internships, median salaries three years post-graduation, and employment rates after graduation.
UTEP’s average student debt at graduation is $4,410, making it the second-lowest in Texas among all colleges and universities, the magazine stated.
