Funds from Tour de Guelph and Ribfest help club provide $37,000 among 23 community organizations.

ROTARY CLUB OF GUELPH TRILLIUM

Using funds raised through Ribfest and Tour de Guelph, the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium, recently awarded 23 local organizations with grant funding. An overwhelming 38 grant applications were received, requesting a total of $81,000, and over $37,000 was distributed.
Addressing the ever-growing food insecurity in Guelph-Wellington, 11 organizations that are working to combat this issue were funded, namely Enabling Gardens, Wyndham House, Chalmers, Michael House, Guelph Children’s Foundation, Food Bank, North End Harvest Market, SEED, Hope House, Sanguen Health and Crieff Hills Retreat Centre.
Nine grants also focused on health issues and those with special needs such as Stonehenge Therapeutic, The Nightingale Centre, Alzheimer’s Society, GCAT, Children’s Wish Fund, Autism Dog Services, Community of Hearts, Hopewell Support Services and Guelph Dance.
Last but not least, three grants addressed literacy, with grants going to The Children’s Reading Room, Action Read and Guelph Guild of Storytellers.
