Across Central New York, efforts are growing to ensure that students and adults have access to meaningful career opportunities in a rapidly evolving job market.
From high school programs that prepare young people for the workforce to community partnerships offering skills training, job placement, and wraparound support, local initiatives are working to make career success more attainable.
FOCUS Greater Syracuse, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fostering community engagement, will host its upcoming FOCUS Forum on Friday, May 23, from noon to 1 p.m. In-person and Zoom options are available. Registration is free and open to the public.
The May forum will present information on the local continuum of technical skills training, job placement, and career advancement programs.
The forum will highlight programs for high school students in the Syracuse City School District designed to support their success in pursuing workforce opportunities. It will also feature skills development, job training, and career growth programs for adults offered through a multi-sector collaboration.
This forum will highlight perspectives from local leaders involved in workforce and career development. Panelists include:

- Quindell Williams, Workforce & Talent Development Coach, Syracuse City School District

The Forum is part of FOCUS’ monthly Forum series, where experts discuss citizen-driven topics and engage with attendees through a moderated Q&A session. Forums are open to the public and typically last one hour.
