WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — A significant structure fire broke out at the Warrick Education Center, drawing a large response from local firefighters and residents.
Fire crews have been battling the blaze since it started around 1 p.m. Despite heavy rain, 44News crews observed seven fire trucks deployed to the scene within the first hour.
Photos taken by 44News crews captured extensive damage, with large portions of the building’s roof burned off.
As we know now, firefighters from Ohio Township Fire Department, Newburgh Fire Department, Chandler Fire Department, Boonville Fire Department, Yankeetown Fire Department, Warrick EMS, WCSO, ISP, and Warrick County EMA were actively involved in battling the fire.
Officials with the Boonville Fire Department told 44News, “Additionally, McCutchanville Fire Department, Lynnville Fire Department, Luce Township, and Boonville Fire Department all moved apparatus to other stations provide coverage for the agencies on scene.”
The community gathered at the scene as responders worked to control the situation.
