HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Meet Hawaii’s newest centenarian, Angeles Florentino Caceres. She’s a Lanai resident and celebrated her 100th birthday on Wednesday.
Caceres was born on Oct. 2, 1924, and like her name, is described by family members as loving, kind and generous and “an angel in every sense.”
“No words can express how much we love her and that we wish her many more years of great health, joy and happiness,” her grandson said.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Caceres’ family will be flying in from neighboring islands and the mainland to honor her this weekend — in conjunction with their family reunion.
Her family believes living on the beautiful island of Lanai and her love for solitaire have definitely contributed to her longevity.
