SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Department of Human Resources will be hosting their 4th annual Statewide Career Fair on April 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
DHR says that the event will offer students and local, regional and federal job seekers opportunities to connect with state agencies and to explore careers in public service.
High school students and upcoming college graduates are invited by DHR to explore the various career opportunities within Delaware’s public sector, with the prospect of finding employment in Delaware’s Executive Branch agencies, the Delaware National Guard, and in school districts across the state.
Yvonne Anders Gordon, the Secretary of the Delaware DHR, is proud to offer students and job seekers the chance to contribute to the growth and success of the state in public service.
“This 4th Annual Statewide Career Fair promises to be the largest yet,” says Gordon. “This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the various careers available within Delaware’s state agencies.”
“Delaware’s future depends on a strong and diverse workforce, and the Statewide Career Fair plays a vital role in attracting talented individuals to state government,” says Delaware Governor Matt Meyer. “Whether you’re a student just starting your career, a professional seeking a new opportunity, or a Delaware-based federal worker affected by recent layoffs, this event connects job seekers with rewarding career paths while serving our communities.”
DHR states that the event will be hosted at the Smyrna Readiness Center, 103 Artisan Drive, Smyrna, and will be split as follows:
- High school session #1: 9 – 10 a.m.
- High school session #2: 10 – 11 a.m.
- High school session #3/College power hour: 11 a.m. – noon
- General public: noon – 3 p.m.
American Sign Language and Spanish interpreters will be available onsite to assist attendees. DHR encourages interested participants to pre-register.
