Spaceflight Records has launched a new Split 7-Inch Series, kicked off with a collaboration between Andrew Cashen (A Giant Dog, Tear Dungeon) and White Lightning Company. With lathe-cut vinyl courtesy of Bleached 45s, the local nonprofit label will release limited edition 7-inch records as a celebration of community, talent, and creativity. Spaceflight celebrates the series with a record release party Feb. 1 at Hotel Vegas with a stacked lineup of the two featured artists, plus noise rock trio HUNCH and upbeat collective Bubba Lucky.
Mohawk continues Hawky Tonk, a freshly debuted monthly country series, on Feb. 19, with twangy tunes from Central Texas-based Gus Clark & the Least of His Problems and Houston’s Travis Cole’s Hellbent Honky Tonk. The new series, a genre pivot for the rock-heavy Red River venue, debuted in January with JD Clark & the Stuck in the Mud Band and the Western Express. Tickets to the second installment of the all-ages event are on sale now at mohawkaustin.com.
