Las Vegas (KSNV) — Officials with the Clark County School District (CCSD) are seeking community input as the district considers shifting all school start times by 30 minutes for the next school year.
The survey, which launched on Friday, can be taken by parents/guardians, students, and CCSD staff and will be available until 5 p.m. on Friday, October 17.
“We are asking our entire community to participate in this survey to get an accurate pulse on the topic,” said CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert.
“We understand that any change we make to school start times impacts our employees, students, families, and even businesses across Clark County. It’s important to hear from our community.”
Most high schools currently start at 7 a.m., but research indicates that starting school later in the morning offers significant benefits for adolescents, according to district officials.
Later start times are also linked to improved mental health, including reduced stress, lower rates of depression and anxiety, and enhanced overall emotional well-being, they add.
The survey is available in English, Spanish, Filipino, Vietnamese, Amharic, and Chinese.
