Presidential Polar Plunge on Feb. 17
The second annual Presidential Polar Plunge will be held at the Dye Natatorium pool at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17.
Last year’s event was a splash-tacular success according to the sponsoring Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District.
The district is dedicated to having fun while creating activities that promote health and wellness and created the polar plunge to challenge others to go beyond their comfort zone while enjoying events.
Also called “cold water immersion” or “cold therapy,” in a polar plunge you submerge into ice cold water for a few minutes. If you are just starting, it is recommended to only cold plunge for about two minutes and increase the time from there.

She said the “Concert for a Cause” will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Aspen Builders Inc. Activity Center, 410 W. D St., Tehachapi.
Tickets are $30 each, and food will be available for purchase.
The event will feature live music by Flashback “and other incredible bands,” Carhart said. She added that all proceeds from the event will be handled with transparency and purpose through Rotary’s trusted channels.
