CHICO, Calif. – The Chico Culture Fair comes to Chico High School on Saturday, November 2.
It’s a project organized by Chico High choir and theatre students. Christiana Franzetti joined Action News Now at noon to share the details.
Celebrate cultures from all over the world right here on the Chico High School campus at the Chico Culture Fair on November 2. The event was originally designed to expose students to different kinds of music and dance but has grown into a community-wide event. Those in attendance will have several options, from making their arts and crafts to sampling from local food trucks, and enjoying a diverse range of performances:
- Music from the Caribbean
- Ukranian Folk Music
- Lion Dancers
- Capoeira Showcase
- Flamenco Dance and Guitar
- Mexican Music and Ballet Folklorico
- Belly Dancing
- South African and Samba Reggae Music and Dance
- Hula Dance Workshop
- Irish Music and Dance
- Ancient Greek Theater
- Argentinian Music and Dance
- Salsa Rueda Workshop
- Salsa at Sunset
Attendees should bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.
“Our goal with this event is to bring our community together to learn about and celebrate cultures from around the world,” said Chico High School Choir and Musical Theater Director Cristiana Franzetti. “I am so honored to showcase these talented performers and am grateful for their willingness to share their knowledge with our students so they can become well-rounded, cultured members of society.”
The event takes place from noon to 6 p.m. in the main courtyard at Chico High. Tickets are $10 each or $5 for students.
