NEW BRITAIN — Central Connecticut State University will welcome the community for its summer Scholars for Life lecture series.
The program, which features Central faculty and guest speakers sharing their expertise and passions across various fields, is designed to provide engaging talks that explore fascinating areas of research while offering an interactive and educational experience for attendees.
Each event will include a buffet dinner served at 5 p.m., followed by the lecture at 6 p.m. Admission is $20, which covers the buffet and the lecture.
The program schedule goes as follows:
June 25, 5-7 p.m.: Dr. John Tully, professor of History, will discuss how the long Cold War influenced all aspects of American life. Delve into the geopolitics of the Cold War and see how it changed everything from sci-fi movies to religion.
July 9, 5-7 p.m.: Stephen Armstrong, adjunct professor of History, will explore the enduring legacy of Bob Dylan and the profound influence his music had on generations of artists. The session will analyze the critical albums that cemented Dylan’s place in musical history and attempt to answer the question, “Who is Bob Dylan?”
