The Cass Health Auxiliary met Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Cass Health in Conference Room 2 with 46 in attendance. President Vicki Brown welcomed those present at noon. Invocation was given by Vicki Brown. Lunch was prepared by Cass Health. The guest speakers were Ann McCurdy and Kat Niemann.
Ann McCurdy spoke on Reach Out and Read which is an national early literacy program for children 6 months to 5 years of age. This involves their primary care providers during the child’s wellness checks. At this time, each child will be given an age appropriate book. All Cass Health sites will have this program. The support by the Auxiliary is greatly appreciated.
Kat Niemann spoke on the Apprentice Program at Cass Health. The Apprentice program works in partnership with IWCC and IWD. Students may earn their LPN and/or RN. Currently there are 16 in each program. Goal is retention of students for employment at Cass Health. The support by the Auxiliary is greatly appreciated.
Brett Altman gave the administrative report. This included possible remodeling as well as adding on to Cass Health. Also discussed the new building for the eye clinic area.
After the speakers, Vicki Brown began the meeting. Motions were made to pass on the reading of the June 25, 2025 General meeting. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s report was presented. The motions were made to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion passed.

Motions to approve $50,000 to the Apprentice Program passed. (Shirley Jensen and Sharon Ambrose)
Motions to approve the $4,000 for furniture in year one and then $5,000 for the next three years for books passed. (Sara Nelson and Mary Strong)
