CORNING, Calif.—More than 900 students at Corning Union High School attended the school’s annual College and Career Readiness Fair on Monday.
The event featured 39 booths from a range of industries, including public safety, education, military, construction, and science. Several booths extended outside the gym.
“This is a really good experience,” said senior Ryann Ripley. “You get to learn a lot about the pathway that you want to go through or what career you want to do.”
“There’s a bunch of students here, and someone is going to be interested in at least one business,” said senior Margarita Leal.
Organizer Brittany Lamson said the fair has been held for over a decade and aims to expose students to a wide variety of career paths.
To boost interaction, students received stamp sheets at each booth for a chance to win prizes. Colleges in attendance included Butte, Shasta, Simpson, and Oregon State University.
Students from Centennial Continuation High School also participated.
