Surgeon? Scientist? Social worker?
More than 60 students from William Penn High School in New Castle County, Delaware, recently had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of health care at Christiana Hospital for their annual Career Day. With graduation nearing closer each day, the students were eager to determine which career pathway was the right choice for them.

Representatives from over 20 departments including Cardiology and Respiratory Therapy, and community partners, including New Castle County Paramedics, helped answer questions, provided demonstrations and gave inspiring tips for success.

Students also had a great time scrubbing in!

Students got to learn about the steps our caregivers took to achieve their dreams. They heard from NICU nurses, a wound care specialist and other professionals about their career journeys.

Organized by William Penn High School student volunteers, alumni and ChristianaCare caregivers, Career Day is an ongoing 10-year partnership designed to provide students with hands-on medical experience and firsthand accounts about health care professions.
