Cal Poly’s Office of University Diversity and Inclusion (OUDI) will officially be renamed to Culture and Institutional Excellence in January, according to university spokesperson Keegan Koberl. This name has been updated on their website and Instagram.
This change comes after OUDI’s move into University Personnel, which made Cal Poly more aligned with the structure of other Cal State campuses, Koberl wrote in an email to Mustang News.

“The new name reflects the office’s evolving role and its commitment to fostering a campus culture where belonging, respect and opportunity for every student, faculty and staff member are central to how institutional excellence is defined,” Koberl wrote.
The office will still lead programs like the BEACoN program, Building Belonging and I am First-Gen among others as it has in the past. The office will also more closely align with the CSU Forward Strategic Plan, a plan that includes economic mobility, sustainable affordability, being a strong employer and having a statewide impact.
