CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Black Food Truck Festival is returning this spring, bringing together a variety of aspects of Black culture to “an unforgettable weekend of flavor, music and community.”
A release from the festival says it honors the importance of food in Black culture by featuring more than 40 food trucks, offering everything from Black American soul food to West African delicacies. Attendees can also expect live entertainment and DJs, dancing and interactive experiences, craft artisans and vendors, as well as games and lounge areas at the event.
“This event is bigger than food—it’s a full cultural experience,” Festival founder Marcus Hammond says. “It’s a chance to connect, celebrate, and uplift entrepreneurs and artists while enjoying an unforgettable weekend of fun.”
The Black Food Truck Festival has contributed $10.3 million to the local economy, driving tourism, creating jobs, and generating significant revenue for vendors, food trucks, and surrounding businesses, the release says.
