The ranking is part of Career Minds’ 2025 list of the Best Companies for Career Development in the U.S. The study identifies one standout employer in each state based on opportunities for skill-building and upward mobility.
Across the country, 3,002 workers were surveyed in September 2025. Workers cited companies that invest heavily in employee training, mentoring and internal promotions as their most desirable place to work.
For Alabamians, that growth path might start on the Mercedes-Benz production line.
What is Mercedes-Benz International?
Mercedes-Benz International, which operates in Vance, Ala., has been a part of the Alabama landscape since 1995. The Tuscaloosa County plant was the first major Mercedes-Benz site outside Germany, and the first large-scale auto factory in the state.
The facility employs more than 6,1000 people and supports an estimated 57,000 additional jobs with local suppliers and service providers.
The company boasts “excellent compensation and benefits,” including:
- 401(k) plan

- On-site childcare center
- Wellness facility
They promote a culture that emphasizes teamwork, safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Job titles range from production team member to maintenance technician, but Mercedes-Benz insists that your career will only go upwards with more challenges and benefits.
