Wheeling, WV — The Augusta Levy Learning Center in Wheeling has launched a new program aimed at supporting adults with disabilities in their career pursuits. Available to individuals aged 14 and older, the program focuses on helping participants set and achieve goals in independent living and vocational endeavors. For those uncertain about their career path, the center provides job coaches to assist in job searches and offers follow-up support throughout the process.
Emily Doyle, director of adult services at Augusta Levy Behavioral Services, emphasized the program’s importance. “I think it’s important because in our community we are so diverse in what we need, in what we have, and in what we want, and this is just one more drop in the bucket in terms of how we can support more of our neighbors to get to where they want to be, and to meet them where they are, so really it’s just about bridging unmet needs with resources,” she said.
The job program is free, and referrals can also be obtained from the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation. To find out more you can click
