AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn University has issued a warning after some students believed they were involuntarily given drugs during various on- and off-campus events.
Students have reported symptoms such as loss of feeling in limbs, vomiting, dizziness, and memory loss after consuming alcoholic beverages.
The university advised students who believed they were drugged to seek medical attention. Students are also urged to call 911 or have a trusted friend take them to the East Alabama Medical Center emergency room. The Auburn University Medical Clinic is also available during daytime hours.
Students are advised not to urinate before reaching a medical facility, but, if necessary, collect urine in a clean container for testing.
The university also reminded students administering drugs without consent is considered aggravated assault and is a felony.
Suspicious activity or behavior can be reported by calling 911 or by calling 334-501-3100 for non-emergencies. Students can also give tips by texting or calling 334-246-1391.
