Auburn Career Center’s Construction Management Program has received a $60,000 grant from the Jerome T. Osborne and Georgeanne S. Osborne Charitable Trust, facilitated by the Auburn Education Foundation.
According to officials, this funding will be used to upgrade the equipment in the construction management lab. The modernization aims to enhance the hands-on training that students receive as they prepare for high-demand careers in the construction and skilled trades industries.
“This generous gift from the Osborne Charitable Trust represents the very best of community partnership and shared purpose,” said Auburn Superintendent Joe Glavan, who also serves as foundation president.
“We are deeply grateful for the Osborne family’s commitment to empowering education and workforce development in Northeast Ohio,” he added. “Their investment ensures that our students have access to modern tools, relevant training and real-world learning experiences that prepare them for success.”
The Osborne Charitable Trust supports charitable organizations in Greater Cleveland that contribute to the community through various means, including education (both academic and vocational training), human services, cultural arts, and care programs for animals, veterans, and individuals facing food insecurity.
The trustees review and award grants that align with the values that are most important to Jerome and Georgeanne Osborne, as noted Administrator Sunny Masters.
“Now in the third year of operation, the trust continues to receive many worthy applications, each reflecting a real need in our community,” she said. “The need is great, and we are proud to assist many of the organizations in carrying out their missions.
“We encourage the community to join us in support of local nonprofits that do the work that makes our community a great place to call home.”
The Auburn Education Foundation exists to financially support the Auburn Career Center by increasing and enhancing the programs offered to high school and adult students.
Additionally, the foundation works closely with local businesses, donors, and community partners to expand access to career-focused education and workforce training opportunities across Lake and Geauga counties.
