COLUMBIA, S.C. — Historic Columbia is inviting the community to downtown Columbia this weekend for the return of the 47th annual Jubilee: Festival of Black History & Culture.
The free, family-friendly celebration will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the historic Mann-Simons Site, 1403 Richland Street. Festivalgoers can expect a day filled with live performances, cultural exploration, food, and hands-on activities for all ages.
This year’s mainstage lineup is headlined by LADY STOUT, with additional performances by Preach Jacobs & The Negro League, Chukk Gregory, the Charles B. Jackson Singers of Brookland Baptist Church, Cr3Wizdom, Sir Chance, and more.
Beyond music, attendees can connect with Black history in meaningful ways. Free guided tours of the Mann-Simons Site will be offered, sponsored by Columbia SC 63 and USC’s Center for Civil Rights History and Research. Visitors can also enjoy free Black history bus tours, provided by C&S Tours.
The festival features interactive cultural experiences, including sweetgrass basket weaving demonstrations and STEM activities led by the Girl Scouts. In the Kids Zone, hosted by the Columbia (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, children can enjoy robotics demonstrations, face painting, free books, and character meet-and-greets with SCETV’s Smart Cat and Gordon the Purple Yam, along with local children’s book authors.
