BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) — The Catholic Schools of Broome County, or CSBC, announced a plan to realign its campuses on Saturday.
The Chancellor and Director of Communications for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, Danielle Cummings, announced that the upcoming changes will involve closing All Saints Schools and expanding Seton Catholic Central.
Cummings said All Saints students will transition to St. James School, adding that they made the decision hoping it would be seamless.
Senton Catholic Central will add 6th grade in the 2026-2027 school year, unifying middle school for St. James and St. John the Evangelist students.
This campus realignment will take effect at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year.
“This decision was not made lightly,” said President of CSBC Tracy Caezza. “We deeply value the contributions of All Saints School and recognize the impact this change will have on the community. However, this restructuring is necessary to ensure the long-term viability of Catholic education in Broome County and provide the best possible educational experience for our students.”
Cummings added that all faculty, staff, and parents were notified of the decision on Jan. 17. CSBC will hold a Parent Meeting for All Saints families to discuss the transition plan in detail. She added that meetings regarding these changes will also be scheduled for St. James, St. John the Evangelist and Seton Catholic Central families.
