Alaska Pacific University continues to earn recognition for student success and post-graduation outcomes. The university has been named a statewide leader for the third consecutive year in the Alaska Higher Education Almanac.
APU leads the state with strong Alaska Native graduation rates, and its graduates earn the highest median wages in Alaska—an average of $54,300 per year. Nationally, APU also ranked 57th among the Best Private Colleges in the United States, according to Research.com, and made the top 200 colleges for Indigenous students in the AISES Winds of Change report.
According to the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education, APU’s Alaska Native graduation rate is 50%, tied for the highest in the state, compared with other four-year universities where rates range from 8 to 16%.
University President Dr. Janelle Vanasse says the recognition reflects APU’s commitment to access, student success, and hands-on, culturally grounded education. The school’s programs aim to prepare graduates to thrive in their careers and contribute to the well-being of Alaska communities.
APU’s national and statewide accolades highlight the university’s ongoing efforts to support Indigenous students and equip all graduates with skills for meaningful work in Alaska and beyond.
