Hot air balloons returned to grace the skies over Bear Valley for three days starting on the Fourth of July.
Every morning from Friday through Sunday, six to eight balloons rose over the horizon.
Pancakes and sausage were ready for early visitors who watched the balloons lift off. The annual breakfast is put on by the combined energies of local men’s and women’s golf club members. Profits are meant to go toward golf activities. On average the three days of pancakes feed about 600 visitors per day.
Visitors could choose from a variety of shopping booths spread out along the lakeshore. On Saturday a local car show attracted many viewers.
Water activities on Four Island Lake featured a decorated boat parade and paddle races. Winners in various classes received gift certificates and, of course, the all-important bragging rights.
