The TEA announced its takeover of Lake Worth ISD Thursday. The decision stems from the Marilyn Miller Language Academy earning its fifth consecutive “unacceptable” accountability rating. Commissioner Mike Morath says it’s not just the academy that has failed but the entire district. “Only 22% of kids are on grade level,” said Morath.
