ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB) – Following a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, two Santa Fe High School administrators were put on administrative leave as the school district looked into the complaint.
Alachua County School District officials confirm Mac Rendek, the assistant principal, and Michele Faulk, the athletic director, were placed on leave with pay.
In a lawsuit filed last week, Rendek, Faulk, and Timothy Wright, the former school principal who retired this summer, were accused of failing to report sexual harassment of a student.
A sophomore at the high school reportedly told the administrators that Travis Yeckring, the baseball coach, showed her an explicit photo of himself and made “sexually charged statements” to her during the 2022-2023 academic year.
According to the complaint, the female student reported the incidents to the administrators twice.
The student says the administrators told her that they were aware of other allegations against Yeckring.
In March 2024, Yeckring was placed on administrative leave, days after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) began investigating reports of “crimes against children.”
Attorney Bobi Frank, representing the mother of the student, sent a “notice of intent” to file a lawsuit in June. That notice was named Wright, Rendek, and Faulk.
