ORLANDO — Mass General Cancer Center has found success in an oncology-focused lifestyle medicine clinic, proving that the model can be sustainable and beneficial, according to a poster presented at the Lifestyle Medicine Conference.
Launched in 2020, the institution’s clinic provides lifestyle medicine consultations regarding sleep, diet and stress management, as well as referrals to cancer-specific lifestyle medicine mental health experts.
In this Healio video interview, Rachel A. Millstein, PhD, MHS, clinical psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the poster’s presenter, described the need for lifestyle medicine for patients with cancer and those navigating survivorship.
“We really feel, and the evidence suggests … that lifestyle behavior changes can help people live better, feel better and thrive,” she said.
