The Career and Entrepreneurship Club (CEC) begins planning for various student networking and career readiness opportunies this spring.
Gurleen Saran, the President of the CEC, said, “Our primary focus this semester is to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional reality.”
She said the CEC aims to equip members with practical skills, strong professional connections and the confidence to start their own ventures or secure competitive internships.
Saran said the CEC has an exciting calendar in the works and, while dates and partner clubs are still being finalized, the full lineup will be revealed at the official kickoff meeting.
“Rest assured, the schedule is designed to offer a mix of hands-on workshops and high-impact projects that will be revealed as the semester begins,” she said.
There will also be more networking events and guest speakers this semester, she said.
“For students interested in entrepreneurship, the club serves as a resource hub and a sounding board for new ideas,” she said.
She said the CEC plans to offer sessions on the basics of starting a business and opportunities for peer feedback, aiming to help student founders find support and collaborators on campus.
Saran said the CEC recognizes the importance of career readiness, and this semester will support members with resume building and mock interviews.
“We also aim to help members stay informed about internship opportunities and professional development resources available to them,” she said.
Saran said the CEC will offer many opportunities for members to take on leadership roles, from joining specialized committees to applying for e-board positions for fall 2026 and encouraged anyone looking to build their leadership experience to get involved.
“We are looking forward to collaborating with other student organizations and campus departments this semester,” she said.
The CEC plans to partner with other clubs to host events that explore the intersection of different majors and industries, with joint initiatives announced once scheduled, Saran said.
She said the CEC will be holding regular meetings throughout the semester.
“The exact dates, times and locations will be announced during the first week of classes so that everyone can factor them into their new course schedules,” Saran said.
“We’re excited to introduce some fresh formats to our meetings this semester to make them more interactive and student-led,” she said.
The CEC is working to include more hands-on activities and open discussions in meetings so that members leave with practical takeaways for their career journeys, Saran said.
“If you’re not sure what career path you want to take yet, this club is a great place to start,” she said.
The CEC aims to expose members to a variety of industries and roles, allowing undecided students to explore options through speakers and peer engagement in a supportive, low-pressure environment, she said.
