MUNCIE, IN — The Muncie Arts and Culture Council has renewed its agreement with the city of Muncie to continue serving as the city’s official arts and culture partner through 2027.
The renewed agreement — which awards $10,000 to MuncieArts each year — affirms “a shared commitment to strengthening Muncie’s creative economy, supporting local artists, andexpanding access to arts and cultural experiences for residents and visitors,” according to a news release.
MuncieArts will “continue to lead public art initiatives, support community-based arts programming, and collaborate with local organizations, artists and city departments to integrate arts and culture into Muncie’s civic life and public spaces,” the release said.
“This renewed agreement reflects the city of Muncie’s continued belief in the power of arts and culture to bring people together, tell our community’s stories, and contribute to a vibrant andresilient city,” said Tania Said, executive director of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council.
“We’re grateful for the city’s partnership, recognition of our ability to champion arts and culture, and we are excited to build on this momentum through 2027 and beyond.”
Mayor Dan Ridenour said arts and culture are “an essential part of what makes Muncie a welcoming and dynamic community,”
“Our continued partnership with MuncieArts helps ensure that creativity remains visible, accessible, and woven into the fabric of our city as we look to the future,” Ridenour said.
MuncieArts became the city of Muncie’s arts partner in 2015.
