PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The Portland Public Schools board has voted to change boundary lines for Jefferson, McDaniel, Grant, and Roosevelt high schools, eliminating the option for students whose home school is Jefferson to attend another school.
Board member Rashelle Chase-Miller acknowledged concerns from parents who are hesitant to send their children to Jefferson High School, which has an enrollment of fewer than 400 students compared to Grant’s 2,059 and McDaniel and Roosevelt’s approximately 1,500 each.
