SOUTHINGTON, CT — The community is invited to a special presentation on Wednesday at the Southington Public Library about something near and dear to the local community.
The library, located at 255 Main St., is hosting an event with John Salerno, Betsy Tooker, and Chuck Miceli, who recently released a new book, “God is Watching the Apples,” about Tops Marketplace in Plantsville.
The free event will take place at 5 p.m. for a special presentation by the book’s authors.
Tops, located at 887 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in Plantsville, started in 1951 as a small, mom-and-pop market.
Over the decades, however, the store has stayed independent but has grown into an iconic part of Southington’s business community.
The book details the personal journeys of those affiliated with the market, journeys marked by both faith and community.
Registration is not required, although folks are welcome to register to receive an automatic reminder before the event: https://southington-ct.whofi.com/calendar/event/368938.
