AUGUSTA — When someone is good at their job they leave a lasting impression.
Major Scott Gosselin won’t be showing up for shifts with the state police every day now he is retiring but the difference he made will remain.
Gosselin started his 25 year career as a trooper with the state police in 2000.

He was promoted to detective with Cid in 2007, Sergeant at the crime lab in 2011, Lieutenant at the lab in 2018 and major in 2022.
Gosselin was nominated for Trooper of the Year in 2002,2008 and 2011 and was the first recipient of the Maine State Police Leadership Award in 2017.
He was also the assistant commander with the incident management team during his time with the state police.
Gosselin can now take time to enjoy the state he helped protect.
