EASTON, Pa. – Easton Area Middle School (EAMS) is welcoming a new principal when students and staff return from their holiday break.
Effective Monday, Jan. 5, Ryan Cron, the current supervisor of curriculum, instruction, and cyber academy, will serve as the lead principal of EAMS, according to the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction Benita Draper.
School officials say that Cron will remain in this capacity until a new permanent building principal is officially hired and assumes the role.
This transition comes after the departure of Elise Jones, the former principal of the middle school. Jones’ last day of service for the district is Friday, according to a news release.
In October, the Bethlehem Area School District approved the appointment of Jones as principal of Fountain Hill Elementary School.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Jones for her dedication and wish her the very best in her future endeavors,” Draper said in a letter.
School officials say that Cron is a former middle school principal and that they are confident he will be an exceptional asset in this position.
