EXCLUSIVE: British TV chef Jamie Oliver is moving into the podcast game.
The cook and campaigner is hosting his first pod, Reset Your Health with Jamie Oliver, in which he will tackle a health topic each ep with the help of a leading expert. From uncovering the mysteries of the gut with Dr Emily Leeming and the impact that chewing soft foods versus crunchy foods has on our health with Sarah Berry, to exploring why bacon sandwiches are so irresistible with geneticist Professor Giles Yeo and learning how to protect your memory as you age with Professor Rose Anne Kenny, the series will aim to help listeners lead healthier lives.
The podcast is being made for Audible and will launch on January 8.
Oliver said: “Our health is the most precious thing we have, but right now, the food environment around us has never been unhealthier. Where we live and where we work, everywhere we go, we’re surrounded by a majority of unhealthy choices. It’s hard to know what to do, which is why I wanted to make this podcast, joined by experts in their field, to unpack what we can all do to make some positive changes.”
Aurelie de Troyer, Audible’s Head of Regional Content, added: “Jamie has this incredible knack for making complex topics feel like a conversation with your friend. This isn’t your typical wellness podcast – it’s Jamie being genuinely interested about the science behind why our bodies do what they do, and that curiosity is absolutely infectious. Timed perfectly for the new year, we’re excited for our listeners to join Jamie on this journey.”
Known for his easy-to-make cooking advice that is supposed to deliver on a budget, Oliver is one of the best-known culinary faces on British TV. He has presented hundreds of hours of TV mostly for Channel 4 along with American shows like ABC’s Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, while he has a deal in place with Fremantle.
Audible also makes health pods with the likes of Sienna Miller and Derren Brown.
