LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Nevada State Contractors Board’s Commission on Construction Education hosted its inaugural “In the Field Trip,” which drew more than 100 students from Southeast Career and Technical Academy and East Career and Technical Academy.
The educational bus tour aimed to expose students to real-world construction environments and inspire them to consider careers in trade professions.
“It’s really important to me because, as I’m in sort of the back end of my career, I’m about teaching students and people about the industry and getting them involved and then leaving things behind for other people to use because there’s not enough of that going on now,” said Smith, senior project manager at Metcalf Builders Inc.
The event concluded with a Q&A panel and a luncheon with industry professionals.
