A state-government job fair Friday will get a fast-track boost from an executive order signed Feb. 18, which created Operation Hire Hawai‘i (OH-HI). The governor’s ongoing order, which came amid the Trump administration’s sudden firings and furloughs, seeks to expeditiously fill chronically high state job vacancies with displaced federal workers. Consider it a win-win, given local government’s notoriously slow hiring processes.
Open to all, Friday’s job fair will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wahiawa Value-Added Product Development Center; 22 state agencies have Oahu jobs to fill. For more, see hawaii.gov/ohhi.
