GLEN LAKE, MI –Michiganders checking their outside cameras have been surprised by a large, green “fireball” soaring across the screen.
The group Michigan Storm Chasers has been collecting footage from weather cameras showing a green light flaming out over bodies of water.
The most recent occurrence was 10:03 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 above Glen Lake in the southwestern Leelanau Peninsula. Resident Michele Duff Aucello shared footage from her Wyze camera.
The meteor-like light was seen across northern Michigan and in the Upper Peninsula in recent days.
Michigan Storm Chasers weather cameras caught four different angles of the light in the vicinity of eastern Lake Superior on Monday.
At 11:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, a similar flash of green light burst across sky cameras in Manistee, according to the Storm Chasers post.
