Joe Flacco has had an incredible career in the NFL, and Sunday afternoon was another stellar performance for Flacco to add to his resume.
Despite the crushing defeat, Flacco had a career high in one very important stat category that was better than any total he produced in his previous 200+ appearances.
What stat did Flacco have a career high in on Sunday?
In Flacco’s 204th career game at age 40, he somehow managed to dish out 470 passing yards.
This destroyed his previous personal best of 389 yards, which he set 14 years ago when he was with the Ravens.
Flacco’s yardage was the highest we have seen from a player so far this season, beating Russell Wilson’s mark of 450 yards in a game earlier this season (via StatMuse).
Even with the big day from Flacco, the Bengals lost the game.
It was one of the best games we have seen this season, with constant lead changes and almost a miracle win for the Bengals, who trailed by two scores with less than two minutes to go at one point.
They took the lead despite the large fourth-quarter deficit, but left enough time on the clock for the Bears to move the ball downfield and pop a play for a touchdown to regain the lead.
The Bengals won’t be in action next week, as they are on a bye, and will be back in action the following Sunday in a game against their division rival Steelers.
