Excited to learn about potential career opportunities, more than 240 Oglethorpe students filled the Turner Lynch Campus Center to connect with employers and graduate programs at the Fall 2025 Career and Graduate School Fair on Oct. 23.

The fair invites students to meet local and out-of-state companies, nonprofits and graduate schools, update their professional headshots, network, and practice their communication skills.

“As economic uncertainty rises, events like the Career and Graduate School Fair that connect students face-to-face with recruiters become even more important,” said Karlie Burrell, assistant director of Career Development. “The Career Fair is a great way for students to stand out in their application process, as well as learn about new opportunities.”

The 47 organizations represented this year were organized into different Petrel Career Pathways related to specific fields, such as STEM, law and communications. Students were encouraged to explore all pathways and career options regardless of their major. Some of the employers included Enterprise Mobility, Waffle House, International Rescue Committee, JP Morgan Chase, and RE: IMAGINE Atlanta.

Many Oglethorpe alumni returned to campus to represent their organizations, including Marge Ramos ’95, who represented RE: IMAGINE Atlanta, a nonprofit focused on workforce readiness in the creative and film industries.

“I love the connection and opportunity to be back on campus to bring a little bit of what I’ve learned, my resources and my network to help out the next generation of creatives and leaders,” said Ramos.

Students made a lasting impression on recruiters like Ramos with their questions, resumes and eagerness to advance their careers.

“The Career and Graduate School Fair is a great place for them to practice essential career readiness competencies like professionalism and communication,” said Burrell. “Recruiters spoke highly of the preparedness and enthusiasm of Oglethorpe students at the event; we are proud of our Petrels!”
