The City of Albuquerque’s South Broadway Cultural Center invites the community to its annual Día de Los Muertos community art exhibition, a heartfelt tribute to the Mexican cultural tradition of honoring those who have passed. The exhibition will be on view November 2-21, with an opening art reception on Sunday, November 2, from 3-6 p.m.
For more than three decades, the South Broadway Cultural Center has served as a gathering place for remembrance, reflection, and art. Since first hosting Día de Los Muertos in 1994, the center’s celebration has blended community participation with creative expression.
This year’s event will feature 15 ofrendas and a community altar where visitors are invited to contribute photographs of loved ones. The exhibition will also highlight the work of 30 local artists, each offering their own interpretation of Día de Los Muertos through painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.
The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
