FSE Lifestyle Services’ Projected Earnings Seem Likely To Cover Future Distributions
We like to see a healthy dividend yield, but that is only helpful to us if the payment can continue. Prior to this announcement, FSE Lifestyle Services’ dividend was comfortably covered by both cash flow and earnings. This indicates that quite a large proportion of earnings is being invested back into the business.
If the trend of the last few years continues, EPS will grow by 1.8% over the next 12 months. Assuming the dividend continues along recent trends, we think the payout ratio could be 45% by next year, which is in a pretty sustainable range.

Growth of 1.8% may indicate that the company has limited investment opportunity so it is returning its earnings to shareholders instead. Overall, we think that FSE Lifestyle Services could make a reasonable income stock, even though it did cut the dividend this year. The payout ratio looks good, but unfortunately the company’s dividend track record isn’t stellar.
