Ohio residents who support building a culture of life continue to stand courageously in the wake of passage of the state constitutional amendment enshrining abortion access throughout pregnancy.
Alongside politicians, religious leaders, families, school groups, and moms pushing strollers, over 40 pregnancy center staff stood together for the fourth annual Ohio March for Life.

On a gorgeous October morning, worship rang out from the lawn of the Ohio Statehouse, followed up by remarks from Toledo, Ohio Bishop Daniel Thomas, Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer, State Representative Adam Mathews, and Melissa Ohden – abortion survivor.

The themes throughout the morning were the importance of standing publicly for life, the dangers of the abortion pill, supporting pro-life legislation, including informed consent for women seeking the abortion and the pregnancy center tax deduction.
As the president of the Ohio Coalition of Pregnancy Centers, I had the privilege of sharing about the good work the over 100 pregnancy centers are doing in Ohio. Including the more than $16 million of support pregnancy centers in Ohio provide.*

The star of the morning was mom Sierra and her adorable toddler. Sierra shared her emotional story of starting the chemical abortion, calling Heartbeat International’s Abortion Pill Rescue Network hotline, and receiving the Abortion Pill Reversal treatment, saving her daughter’s life.
Flanked by pregnancy center staff, Sierra and her daughter stood as reminders that we serve a God of second chances, and the vital role of pregnancy centers across Ohio, our nation and the globe.

As I joined the March, I was reminded, in joy, that while the work of pregnancy center ministry can be hard, it’s not lonely. Our work stands surrounded by donors, volunteers, politicians, clergy, moms pushing strollers, and precious little girls reminding us that together, we march on, building communities, cities, and a culture that values life.
