HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The 12th Annual Harvest Festival returned to Kauai’s West Side on Saturday.
More than 10,000 residents and visitors came out to enjoy the festivities and support local nonprofit organizations.
The event brought the community together for food, fun, and culture.
Held at Hanapepe Athletic Field, the event featured free keiki rides, games, live entertainment, and hundreds of pumpkins during the Great Pumpkin Giveaway.
“The Harvest Festival is a true reflection of what makes Kaua‘i special — community, collaboration, and care for one another,” said Laurie Yoshida, Community Affairs Manager at Corteva Agriscience Hawaii. “It’s incredible to see how much this event has grown over the past decade and how it continues to bring families together while supporting local nonprofits that strengthen our island.”
Local nonprofits managed and sold at food booths to raise funds for community programs.
Items included a Hawaiian plate prepared by Lihue Pop Warner, flying saucers from Hanapēpē Pop Warner, pastele dioja by Westside Christian, and shave ice from the Rotary Club of West Kauai.
The education tent included Osborne Books, HHSC Kauai Region, Hawaii Foodbank, Kauai Forest Bird Recovery Project, Kauai Fire Department, Boys & Girls Club, Child & Family Service, and Kauai United Way.
Organizers said the festival is all about celebrating and supporting the community.
Since the festival started in 2014 as a small mahalo celebration for the West Side community, the Harvest Festival has grown to attract more than 10,000 attendees annually.
