Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has relieved the Chairperson of the State Senior Secondary Education Board, Dr Maureen Ekhoragbon, of her duties with immediate effect.
No official reason was given for her removal as of press time.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Ikhilor Musa, the Governor announced the appointment of Dr Rita Otibho Erewele as the new Chairperson of the Board.
Dr Erewele, described in the statement as an accomplished educationist and administrator, brings over two decades of experience in Nigeria’s education sector. She holds a PhD in Educational Administration and Planning, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Education from the University of Benin.
According to the statement, her appointment also takes immediate effect.
