(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Herzog hosted a career day for students to get to know the industry.
High school age students were invited to see the many opportunities Herzog has to offer.
Over 30 stations exposed students to roles from fieldwork to shop to office level positions.
Heidi Sweeney, recruiting manger, explained why the industry is so important for students to learn about.
“I think the trade skill set industry, it’s lacking. They’re seeing the different type of motivators that are getting kids into that industry, and so it’s one thing for them to come in and just see what is out there for them,” Sweeney said.
Many students said the solar panels interested them the most.
Some students said they could see the employee’s passion in their work.
“You’re not just another number here, You’re actually a part of the family, and they pursue excellence and work as a team,” Maryville High School student Tyson Atwell said.
