Southeastern hosts 2025 Safety Career Fair

Durant, Oklahoma —  Over 25 firms from industries across the employment spectrum visited the Hallie McKinney Ballroom to recruit and network with students at the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Safety Career Fair hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State University Career Services this Wednesday.

The Occupational Safety and Health major at Southeastern continually produces high-caliber graduates for the workforce of Oklahoma and the greater region. Numerous companies sent SE alumni as their representative and were also recruiting for potential positions in fields outside of safety.

While construction firms with immediate need were many of the companies represented, there were also energy, manufacturing, engineering, insurance, agriculture, and wholesale trade companies in attendance. Many companies scheduled interviews with candidates on campus later in the week.

SE Career Services hosts multiple career fairs throughout the year to connect employers with future graduates and SE alumni who are prepared to enter the workforce and contribute immediately.

“Potential employers keep coming back to this career fair because they recognize the benefit in having a Southeastern alum as an employee or current student as an intern,” said Stephanie Davison, Southeastern Executive Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations. “The number of alumni who were company representatives today shows the strength of our occupational safety and health program and its success across the board. Southeastern graduates immediately contribute to our state and regional workforce, and it shows in the attendance at this event.”

About Southeastern

Founded in 1909, Southeastern Oklahoma State University provides an environment of academic excellence that enables students to reach their highest potential. By having personal access to excellent teaching, challenging academic programs, and extracurricular experiences, students will develop skills and habits that promote values for career preparation, responsible citizenship, and lifelong learning. Our over 6,000 students include 50% first-generation students and 28% students of Native American descent, with 82% receiving financial aid. Southeastern ranks amongst the most affordable schools in the region thanks to out-of-state tuition waivers and is proud of its exceptional affordable accredited MBA program, stellar aerospace and teacher education programs, and outstanding national ranking in graduating Native American students.
