Former Tennessean country music reporter Marcus K. Dowling launches his latest project “Culture at Large” — a weekly live music industry podcast premiering Monday, Oct. 13, at Anzie Blue in Nashville. Co-sponsored by Western apparel company H Bar C, the series examines how popular music shapes and reflects culture. The first episode features GRAMMY-nominated songwriters Laura Veltz (“The Bones,” “Speechless”) and Ben Johnson (“TRUCK BED,” “Liar”) discussing their No. 1 hits’ cross-genre influence. Dowling says the venture is the first of several new initiatives he’s exploring since leaving The Tennessean on Friday after nearly four years.
