PUNXSUTAWNEY — Our second Career Woman of the Week is Courtney Grube of Punxsutawney.
Grube grew up in Punxsy and graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in the Class of 2001.

Grube grew up in Punxsy and graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in the Class of 2001.
She went on to attend Clarion University (chemistry, 2001 to 2003), then transferred to LECOM School of Pharmacy (Erie) and became a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2007.
She currently works as Walmart’s staff pharmacist in Punxsy.
Grube is a member of Grace Church in Punxsy and volunteers as a Punxsutawney Area Hospital Foundation Board member and for the Punxsutawney Area Elementary School PTO.
“I started working in retail pharmacy in 2005 as a pharmacy intern at Rite-Aid Pharmacy in Erie,” Grube said, adding that upon graduation, she moved back to the area and was hired as a staff pharmacist at Rite-Aid in Punxsutawney.
“My job responsibilities are filling prescriptions, monitoring safety, drug utilization reviews, drug interactions, contraindication, allergies, verification medication is appropriate for age, dose, disease state, and verification medication being dispensed,” Grube said. “I do adjudication of claims, payments, coordination of benefits, insurance coverage.”
She also handles clinical services immunizations: flu, cover, pneumonia, RSV, hepatitis A and B, meningococcal, tetanus dithers pertussis, shingles, initiating MTM services, medication therapy management, medication therapy reviews and intervention/referrals.
