ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A big day for the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as they held an inauguration ceremony for their 11th president Friday.
Williams Sanders will be RIT’s 11th president. He has nearly 40 years of experience in higher education, and previously served as dean of Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Engineering.
During Sanders’ inaugural remarks, he announced that RIT has gotten gifts to establish five new endowed professorships, which will add to the 49 that exist now.
Sanders said the university will be a place where breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, sustainability, and cybersecurity will be born.
